Whenever possible we will ask you to attend appointments at the surgery as we have full access to your medical records and treatment facilities. You are usually able to be seen sooner at the surgery, as we can see three or four patients in the surgery in the time it takes to do one home visit.
If you are not sure whether you need a visit, reception can arrange for you to get advise from one of the doctors. If the doctor feels your problems would be dealt with appropriately within the surgery, then you will be offered an appointment and the home visit request declined. If you are a housebound or bedbound patient the doctor or clinician will speak to you on the phone first of all to try and assess and help over the phone and will then decide if a home visit is required. We cannot guarantee the time of your home visit.
